Just started the process of releasing the collapsed lifter. WOW! This is the first VLOM nut as I found it. That's about a 3/16" gap between the nut and the VLOM body. The opposite side was very loose, finger tight, as well. Missed at the factory or somehow worked itself loose?

When I did my AFM delete, most of the bolts on the front 1/2 of the VLOM were loose, some just finger tight. You would think that Chevy would have figured this out by now as it seems to span multiple years for this engine. Funny thing, a pesky oil leak I had trouble tracking down went away after the delete. I'm sure the new gaskets and proper torque of the bolts had nothing to do with it......
It's very common for them to be loose. They typically aren't that loose though and this is a bit extreme. Must have been loose for a very long time and vibrations have been working it's way up.
