Hey guys I have a 08 Silverado 5.3 I bought a couple weeks ago it has 293k im not 100% sure it’s the original engine but I belive it is idk how long it’s had a collap lifter but I looked at it a couple months ago and then bought it a month ago so it’s atleast had it that long I was wondering should I try to uncollapse it or it might already be beyond repair I already ordered the kit

You are doing much more damage by not releasing the lifter. The VLOM mod and tune are needed after a lifter release for it to not collapse again. You might want to watch my why VLOM mod video https://youtu.be/xFr8TxgxJow so you can better understand the system.
Also what would happen if I do the vlom mod and disable the afm from the cpu and the lifter still collapses would it run bad
It’s cylinder 4 and it’s mine I’m definitely excited to do i Think it’s worth a shot I was just wondering if i do it could it cause more damage if it collapses again
If it is on cylinder 1 or 7 you can see if the cam/roller has damage. Otherwise, you have the kit already so if you attempt it and it doesn't work, or doesn't last long your not really out anything but a little time. If it was my truck and I didn't want to pull the heads yet I would give it a shot because why not... If it's a truck for someone else, well that changes things a bit.
