I have an 03 LQ4 with pressed pins. I'm wondering if LQ9 bushed Pistons would work with my rods, using them as pressed..
I had one company selling Pistons say it would, but since the piston pin is different diameters, Im not sure if it would.
Would bushed pins just slide in and work using the clips, or would the pressed pins work on the bushed Pistons..
Anyone know.
Thanks
I appreciate the information, I still like the race bearings for purposes I typically use them and they don't seem to be lead, more like steel core with perhaps a high tin content thin film of lead over copper? Seems to me this would be much better then the factory ones that are also steel core just much worst construction. Definitely not aluminum for the camshaft bearings. The crank ant rod bearing from factory appear aluminum though. But if one gets a cut deep enough to hit the copper there is more to be concerned about I think. Just my opinion though, I could be wrong. I have had really good luck with the performance bearings myself but I also don't often do any bearings in anything stock soo... As for cam choice, if it's not a rush remind me to get back to you on that. I'll share image of what I'm trying. I'm going to try a different stage 2 cam for trucks and torque specifically on my personal build her in the next less than a month. I have been installing milder version in customer stuff and haven't really been overly impressed yet. The last one I did was the best yet but I still wasn't too satisfied. I'm willing to go a little farther on my own stuff though so I'll see what happens. If it's good I'll let you know. I picked a grind I thought would be just about perfect for my build. Only thing I would have changed is .020 intake .025 exhaust extra lift and maybe 1-2 deg more duration on the intake side due to me adding 4 in stroke crank.
