Hey guys, stumbled across the lifter videos, I'm really interested in the tool and process of releasing the stuck lifter. I have a 2014 Tahoe 5.3 LMG and have random misfires at idle and light load, done everything easy to try to fix, sensors, wires, plugs, AFM tune. Question is how do I identify which lifter is stuck without a scan tool? Thanks for any help!

I have a compression tester, would that solve my problems?
Thanks for the reply, how would I check the fuel air and spark on that cylinder without a scan tool?
You can find out what cylinder is misfiring by unplugging and plugging in coils one at a time. What ever one doesn't make a difference is the one with the misfire. Then you can further diagnose what's causing the misfire by checking the basics on that cylinder. Does it have spark, fuel, and compression. If it lacks compression then you need to determine if any of the rockers on that cylinder are loose. If there is a loose rocker you could be dealing with a collapsed lifter and thus the tool could apply.
